Pick Noses Not Voters
The Issue
Let’s talk ☞gerrymandering☜.
Each decade, population data from the U.S. census is used to determine how many seats are allocated to each state in the House of Representatives. Due to regular changes in population (think baby booms or retirees migrating to Florida), states are required to redraw congressional maps and ensure an equal distribution of people in each district.
Enter gerrymandering, the practice of picking voters by redrawing district lines to benefit a specific political party. These oddly-shaped, convoluted districts provide a near guarantee that certain candidates will be elected. My home state, Wisconsin, contains some of the most gerrymandered districts in America.

The Design
“Pick Noses Not Voters'' was crafted during the 2020 census to bring awareness to the unfair practice of gerrymandering. I single handedly ideated, designed and sourced the campaign. It was fueled by a fiery passion for fair and equitable elections.
Classic American colors, bold graphics and a hearty dose of humor were used to encourage increased civic engagement. I brought levity to this serious issue with eye-catching designs and witty slogans.
The campaign raised $75 for All On The Line, a national organization leading the fight against gerrymandering.
